The Client

Wild Water Adventures, based in British Columbia, offers premier whitewater rafting experiences on the Kicking Horse River. Since 1992, they have been providing thrilling and well-organized rafting trips, making them a top choice for adventurers in the region. With a strong emphasis on safety, quality equipment, and experienced guides, they cater to all levels—from beginners to seasoned rafters. Conveniently located near Banff and Yoho National Parks, Wild Water Adventures is perfect for those seeking a memorable outdoor experience in the stunning Canadian Rockies.

The Problem

Wild Water Adventures has a strong lineup of river trips with options for every type of adventurer.

However, their old website was poorly optimized for guiding site visitors to the right trip. There was a heavy focus on different audience types (wedding parties, corporate trips, etc…) and not enough focus on the trips themselves. That meant booking always took a few too many extra steps. 

In addition, their old site was challenging for the team to update – making even small changes like pricing updates laborious across the site.

They needed a new site to improve the experience for both their customers and their internal team.

Our Strategy

Our primary goal with their new website was to put a greater emphasis on their trips.

Rather than requiring visitors to dig deeper into the site to find more information about their trips, we put the trips front and center. By leveraging our trip card design, we position key information so customers can make a purchasing decision right from the homepage. 

Additionally, the client wanted a simple clean design. Because of that, we wanted to find opportunities to bring in some additional visual elements. As part of that, we created a custom map asset to help users visualize the river Wild Water runs and the start and take-out points for each trip.
